Doctors Visit Again

This last Friday we took her to 2nd doctors appointment with Dr. Nielson and she was a little hungry during the visit (oops- my fault) so she cried a lot and we saw her first little tear drop. It was very unsettling. Dr. Neislon came in and did all the necessary checks and put some stuff on her belly button to help it dry out more underneath because it was still attached. After the doctor left his nurse came in because it was time to prick her foot to test her blood. The assistant had me hold a heating pack on her foot while she went to get some papers from the doctor. Paisley sat and cried and I was getting very frustrated and just wanted to take my baby and run. I hated every second of it. I just wanted to get out of there and save her from what was about to happen even though it is for her own sake and good reason. Finally when the assistant came back in we were ready to get this over with. I was able to hold her while they pricked her foot which was comforting but not comforting enough. She began prepping the foot and I was almost red in the face and wanting to cry because it was the wrong foot. However, I didn't say anything. Paisley was crying and miserable and then when I heard the prick there was a sudden but short silence ... then tears all over again. It absolutely broke my heart. We go back in 6 weeks for her 2 month old shots and I'm NOT looking forward to that. :(
