Okay here it goes....
Doug graduated this last year from SUU, took the LSAT in the beginning of June and we have patiently been waiting. His score wasn't going to be back in time for him to apply to many Law schools so we just thought whatever happens is meant to be. He was able to apply to 3 schools in Florida that had later enrollment dates so he thought he'd get his name out there!
Well we took off to Delta for a week for our nieces baby blessing and for the 4th of July break! Doug had to head back Sunday to work monday and tuesday so I stayed in Delta to redo Debs hutch! Well Wednesday before Doug headed back he got a phone call. He called me to tell me that the school- St. Thomas-in Florida called him and left a message asking for him to call him back concerning admissions. I was excited wondering what it was all going to come down to so he of course called them back. After he was done talking to them he called me back and told me that he didn't get an interview....my heart sunk a little but I thought well it was the first school we have heard from so that's okay...but before I could really finish my thoughts he went on to say.....they accepted me! I was thrilled and we both chuckled. This school would be in Miami so there was lots to be done. If we weren't going to be accepted anywhere else we would be fine and grateful and take the spot so Doug could start school. Well, we would love to attend Ave Maria in Naples Florida but we didn't hear anything from them. Doug contacted them and they had his file ready to be reviewed next year. They were impressed with his timing while they were making final decisions and quickly reviewed his file and needless to say they were in impressed. He was accepted! This was his first choice from Day 1 because he had a friend who attended this institution and we loved all the things we heard about the school. It was a catholic school very focused on the family and a very conservative school which was a plus for Doug. We have heard good things about the area and thought we'd take it if we could. Well, he was accepted so we did. Since then Doug has been accepted to another school in Florida but we loved Ave Maria from the beginning so here goes our journey!
I searched and searched and searched for housing online! We had one month to get this in order so we worked fast. We found out the 3rd of July and had to be there by the 6th of August!
The story continues.............
